What is PREPARE-ENRICH?

PREPARE-ENRICH is a customized couple assessment completed online that identifies a couple’s strength and growth areas. It is one of the most widely used Programs for premarital counseling and premarital education. But there are also customized versions of the inventory used for marriage counseling, marriage enrichment, and dating couples considering engagement. Based on a couple’s assessment results, a trained facilitator provides 4-8 feedback sessions in which the facilitator helps the couple discuss and understand their results as they are taught proven relationship skills.

Who uses PREPARE-ENRICH?

The inventories have been utilized by over 100,000 trained clergy members, professional counselors, mentor couples, and marriage educators throughout the U.S. Over 3 million couples have taken a PREPARE-ENRICH inventory and worked through their results under the guidance of one of our trained facilitators.

Cost: $175.00 PER PERSON.  This workshop is for persons who have never been trained in PREPARE-ENRICH. A spouse can attend this workshop at no extra charge if the two share the training materials.

There are some things that we do to maintain a healthy, vibrant, loving relationship with our spouses. One of those things is getting away on occasion and “feeding” the relationship. What is an M.E.T.?

The M.E.T. (Marriage Enrichment Team) is the core of the Two By Two Model for local churches. Every church has those people who have a passion and zeal for marriage. Those types of people need to be on this team. This team will work with a staff liaison to implement and continue the marriage enrichment ministry. This team can be made up of couples and individuals. They will ensure all the components that make up an ongoing marriage enrichment ministry are being included. The team should have strong, “leader type” people who will give vision and focus, as well as “behind the scenes” type people who will serve in various capacities. These people will also recruit others to help with various events so that they are not shouldering all the work of this ministry on their own. Typically a church will choose 5 – 15 people to serve on this team, depending on the needs of the church.

If you’ve spent any time around us at all or around our website, you’ve probably heard the term “PREPARE-ENRICH”. Some of you may be wondering exactly what PREPARE-ENRICH is and why we are excited about using it and training others to use it. So, we thought we’d give a brief overview in this blog post.

Let us say here at the beginning….it is a great tool. It’s great for the couple, and it’s great for the pastor or counselor who is using it. USING IT CAN HELP COUPLES BUILD A BETTER MARRIAGE! And…using it can enable a pastor/counselor to save time and be more effective. In addition, lay persons can now be trained to use PREPARE-ENRICH, especially with pre-married couples. This is a tremendous help to pastors and frees up hours of their time.

What is PREPARE-ENRICH?

How does a couple find a facilitator in their area who uses PREPARE-ENRICH?

Couples should begin with their own church and ask their pastor or a staff member if anyone there uses PREPARE-ENRICH. If they cannot find anyone there, they can check at the PREPARE-ENRICH website for a facilitator in their geographic area.

How do clergy or lay persons become trained to use PREPARE-ENRICH?

Facilitators must attend a PREPARE-ENRICH Workshop. The 1-day training includes all the materials you will need to get started using PREPARE-ENRICH in your community. The price of a workshop is $175 (which includes materials and one free inventory scoring). Training begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM. And, once you are trained, you never have to be re-certified. You’re trained for life.
